Chester FC has had their eye on under-23 semi-professional midfielder Ashley Williams for quite some time. Now they’ll get their hands on him.

Manager Neil Young has confirmed that the team has signed Williams, who was previously with Airbus UK Broughton. He’s expected to go straight through into the squad for the upcoming contest against AFC Fylde (assuming the club gets clearance, he is expected to play right away).

Some soccer fans and experts doing online sports betting @ BetUS may not be as familiar with Williams but he is definitely a highly-rated prospect.

The Chester-born 23-year-old Williams has played for West Cheshire League Division 1 side Upton Athletic Association and Conference North club Vauxhall Motors prior to joining the Broughton-based club. Young has scored three in goals in 68 league appearances since.

He previously played for Manchester City as a youngster as well and made his semi-pro debut against Poland in 2009 and earning selection a second time for the away game in Northern Ireland.

There’s plenty of optimism about the move, especially when you consider that he will be suiting up for his hometown team. Young is expecting big things from him not just tonight, but over the coming years as well.

Chester is currently atop the table in Division One North and eyeing promotion. Obviously, Williams will be a key member to the team if the team does in fact achieve their goal.

If the transfer goes through, Williams would become the tenth Welsh Premier player to be recruited by Exacta Stadium boss Neil Young alongside Steven Beck, Tom Field, Michael Taylor, Michael Wilde, former Rhyl quartet Marc Connolly, George Horan, Carl Ruffer and Stuart Graves, plus Greg Stones.
