CHESTER secured their place in the first round of the FA Trophy after a hard fought tie.
Chester, who made three changes to the side that had scored a 1-0 midweek home win against Ashton United, broke the deadlock after 68 minutes when Iain Howard seized on a poor headed clearance by Sam Smith and drilled home a low 10 yard shot.
And Matty McNeil doubled the Blues account in the 80th minute when he tapped home from close range after Wes Baynes' corner was volleyed towards McNeil by Christian Smith.
