CHESTER progressed to the third qualifying round of the FA Trophy after a well deserved home win.

Matty McGinn put the Blues 1-0 up when he converted a penalty in first half stoppage time after referee Jonathan Hunt believed Chris Simm had been fouled in the area by Stafford keeper Adam Alcock.

And Robbie Booth made it 2-0 five minutes after the break from close range after a fine move involving Jerome Wright and Simm.
