A RHUDDLAN teenager was among 1,500 music fans that flocked to the resort at the weekend to attend The Gathering.
Prestatyn High School pupil Heather Clarke, 14, attended Pontin’s for the three-day music festival, now in its 19th year, hosted by Alarm frontman Mike Peters and featuring legendary rockers Big Country and Sex Pistol’s member Glen Matlock.
The budding jewellery designer presented a cheque for £383.30 to the Dyserth musician in support of his cancer charity Love Hope Strength following sales of her own necklace design.
Heather came up with a design and asked Jan, who works for Pensarn-based jewellery maker, Kate Hamilton-Hunter Studio to make them.
Around this time Mike Peters was hosting his summer outdoor concert Rhuddlan Rocks, which Heather attended and became interested in the stand selling Love Hope Strength merchandise, asking if 10 per cent of her necklace sales could support the good cause.
Charity organisers agreed and at The Gathering on Sunday Heather handed over a cheque based on three months of sales.
