TICKETS have gone on sale for a charity dinner in aid of victims of Pakistan's monsoon floods.

Teacher Bhupinder Lace, of Dicksons Drive, Newton, will be hosting the gala evening at Restaurant 1539 at Chester Racecourse.

The event will be taking place at 7pm on Sunday, September 26.

Bhupinder, a senior teacher at St Christopher's Special School in Wrexham, said guests would enjoy a two-course meal featuring food that would typically be eaten in the region where the flooding occurred. First served will be popadums donated by Abdun Noor from Chester Tandoori Restaurant, followed by starters of either tandoori chicken thighs or dahl with chapatti. There will be a choice for a main dish of chick pea curry, lamb masala, cumin rice or chapatti.

After the meal a raffle is taking place featuring prizes donated by businesses from across the area. Among prizes there will be a £40 meal voucher for The Slow Boat Chinese Restaurant in Frodsham Street, a three-course meal at Chester Tandoori and champagne donated by the Carriages. There will also be high-quality toiletries from Next and Dove Spa, in Hoole Road, Boss aftershave and a sports bag, beauty treatments from Debenhams and designer glassware from Pyramid.

This will then be followed by an auction of items including a spa day at Dove Spa, a pearl and gemstone necklace from O'Hares of Chester, Jimmy Choo sunglasses from Mullens Opticians, a pair of Bollywood style shoes from Phase Two in Birmingham and Lacoste aftershave and a sports bag.

For £17.50 tickets call 01244 320643.
