AN ANALYSIS of emigration consultations by a leading specialist has revealed that Chester is their top UK city for emigration.
In the past five months, Chester has generated almost six per cent of the hundreds of consultations The Emigration Group receives, more than any other UK city.
Paul Arthur, director of the company said: “Chester produces our highest level of consultations and successful visa applications. Considering we are very active on a national level, particularly in major cities such as Birmingham and London, this is quite an achievement for a small city like Chester.”
“The reasons for people emigrating are numerous but certainly economic factors are playing their part. However Chester residents are also driven by wanting a better quality of life, lower taxes and better job opportunities, and many are going overseas to achieve it. With the new coalition government making more job cuts, I believe this will continue.”
Mr Arthur added: “Both Australia and New Zealand’s economies are going from strength to strength and there is now a wide range of jobs available for people struggling to find employment in Britain or are concerned about their own job security.”
He added: “This is a great time to apply for a visa, particularly for New Zealand where there are no waiting lists and you can be issued with a full residency visa within months of applying. Not only this the government is actively encouraging people to apply and the pass mark for entry to NZ is falling, so people have a much better chance of qualifying to live and work down under.”
