A JUBILANT bride from Ellesmere Port has celebrated after winning her dream wedding.
Emma Burton has won a free wedding day and honeymoon cruise worth more than £7,000, courtesy of Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel.
Emma beat fellow contestants Laura Morris of Blacon, and Helen Smith of Saltney, in the final stage of the competition last Friday.
The brides-to-be battled it out by racing out of Chester at 7am with no money, no help and only their wedding dresses.
The contestants had one whole day to travel as far away from the city as possible, and back again, before the evening deadline.
Emma, who recieved a generous donation from two local business men, crossed the finishing line with just 10 minutes to spare, after she travelled all the way to London and back.
The 218 mile trip was the longest of the three finalists and Emma can now look forward to marrying her partner Steve Ward in a dream ceremony.
Cassandra Forshaw, regional sales manager of Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel, said: “Each finalist did really well and they all deserved this chance to win a wedding of their dreams. The public had a tough decision to choose the final three and we are so happy for Emma and her partner Steve.”
Emma was selected for the final by listeners of Dee 106.3 FM after revealing that she and her family had recently lost everything in a house fire.
Emma said: “I’m so excited to have won, it was such a tough challenge on Friday but I gave it my best shot and thankfully won by the skin of my teeth.
“I really didn’t think it would be possible for us to ever save for a wedding so to have won our day at the stunning Macdonald Craxton Wood Hotel really is a dream come true.”
