G.C.S.E joy for elated Chester pupils

THERE were scenes of elation as pupils across Chester celebrated scooping some of the most outstanding GCSE grades to date.


Pupils, among them many high achievers revelled in the excitement with impressive grades that ranked alongside that of national levels.
 

Headteachers paid tribute to pupils ‘Outstanding attainment’ which they said reflected the hard work of all involved as pupils prepared themselves for sixth form studies and the next stage of their learning focus.
 

There were many success stories to be told throughout, with many students leading the way scooping clean A* and A grades across all subjects. Other schools delighted in the best ever results achieved.
 

Bishops High School pupil Jess Gorman was thrilled after she achieved 9 A* grades and 3 A grades paving the way for her sixth form studies in chemistry, biology and maths.
 

“I can’t tell you how pleased, excited, as well as relieved I am. I am over the moon, never did I expect grades such as these.
 

Meanwhile brothers Matthew and Allan Myers, also Bishops High School pupils had extra cause for celebration after scooping an impressive 9A* and 9A grades. Matthew said: “I am a very happy person right now, this is brilliant”
 

Miriam Bowen from the Kings School could not contain her excitement after scoring 10 A* and two A* grades. “I am so happy, it has been a tense time but worth the wait, my family and friends are really happy for me”
 

Phillipa Gould from the Queens School achieved 10 A* grades. “This is amazing, i never expected this - party time!.
 

Friends Louise Tompkins, Tayler Dyke Woods and Cara Jameson from Queens Park High School were looking forward to
celebrating after each gaining exceptional grades. Cara said: “We are all really proud and pleased”
 

Blacon High School pupil Joanne Murphy was over the moon with her distinction grade in drama. “I am pleased with my grades, especially my drama, this is something that i want to pursue and now with these results it means I am on my way”
 

Blacon High School’s acting headteacher Lynne Fox was overwhelmed with delight at the school’s best grades to date.
 

“This is a significant improvement on previous years and truly reflects the hard work of the students, staff and all involved”.
 

There was cause for special celebration also for pupils and staff at the Hammond School, after an impressive number of grades, among the high achievers was Alex Boden who gained 4 A* and five B grades.
