STUDENTS from across Chester and Ellesmere Port who are disappointed by their grades today are being told not to fret.

Bosses at West Cheshire college say there are still plenty of opportunities available for thousands of young people in the area who did not get the A-level results they wanted.

Senior college advisor, Jordan Munslow, said: “For anybody that didn’t get the grades they wanted at A-level and haven’t been able to confirm a place at university through clearing - then there are still lots of opportunities available, and it’s not just about re-taking A-levels or taking a gap year.”

Students can take up a foundation degree at the college in accounting with management, early years practice, engineering, fitness and health, hospitality management, ICT and teaching assistance.

Mr Munslow added: “Depending on whether you choose to study full or part-time, our foundation degrees take two to four years to complete.

“Once completed, you can then choose to top it up to a full degree at one of our partner universities such as University of Chester or Staffordshire University.

“A key advantage of opting to study a foundation degree at college means you won’t incur expensive tuition fees or the cost of living away from home.”
