A TV starlet is urging runners in Chester to join the race to beat breast cancer.
Former Hollyoaks actress Sarah Jayne Dunn has swapped the stage for the gym to train for this year's Bupa Great North Run in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign
.

The former star of the Chester-based soap will join 46,000 runners on the start line for the 13.1 mile run in Newcastle on Sunday, September 19, and wants more budding runners across the UK to join her on campaign's team.

Sarah Jayne, who is currently the lead role in the hit stage version of ‘When Harry Met Sally’ has been a keen supporter of the charity for several years and wants to support the thousands of people diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK each year. She will be running with her partner Darren.

She said: "I'm thrilled to take part in the Great North Run for Breast Cancer Campaign. They do a fantastic job in funding vital breast cancer research so I want to do all I can to help their mission to beat this disease. Every year thousands of women are affected by breast cancer so the need to continue supporting research is stronger than ever. I've never run this race before so I'm excited for the challenge and I hope lots of other runners will sign up to run with me and help make a difference to the 125 people who are sadly diagnosed every day."

Last year 300 campaign runners wore their pink running vests with pride and raised £160,000 for breast cancer research.
