FAMILIES enjoyed all the fun of an action-packed summer fair at a SureStart children’s centre in Chester.

The Carlisle Road nursery and pre-school centre in Blacon opened its doors to the community who enjoyed footballing, crafts, face-painting and games as well as being able to sample home-made cakes and refreshments.

The fair also marked the launch of the centre’s new play area which contains a giant-sized sandpit, climbing areas and teletubby-style hills with peek-a-boo domes.

Centre manager Alison Hobbs said: “It was such a delight to host an event such as this where we encouraged as many members of the community as possible to get involved and share in the fun.”

The Blacon SureStart Centre provides childcare and pre-school services for children. For details call 01244 370756.
