POLICE are appealing for help in finding an Ellesmere Port man who  disappeared over the weekend.

John Michael Thomas Burke, 38, was last seen at about 9.30am on Saturday, August 7, at a family members house while he was getting ready for his sister’s wedding with the other male members of the wedding party.

He had told others at the gathering that he was popping out to a local shop but never came back. It is believed that John is on foot and does not have access to a car. He has family around the Ellesmere Port area.

John is described as a white male, around 5ft 4ins tall and of stocky build. He has short dark hair, which is receding at the forehead. It is believed John is wearing a blue Adidas jacket with grey sleeves, blue coloured jeans and white trainers.

Police spokesman, Shelley Williams, said: “It is completely out of character for John to go missing, particularly on the morning of his sister’s wedding.

“Meanwhile, police are asking the communities of Ellesmere Port and wider Cheshire to consider whether they have seen John since he left the family home on Saturday morning at around 9.30am.

If you think you can help, please contact Ellesmere Port Police on 0845 458 0000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
