A CHAIRMAN has been re-appointed to a top role at a health board.
John Church, from Burton, Wirral, has been re-appointed by the appointments commission for a further four years as chair of the board of NHS Western Cheshire from October 1, until September 30, 2014.
John, who was the former group chairman of Group Tyre (UK) Ltd, has had experience as a strategic management consultant and has worked in senior management and director positions in a number of blue chip companies in the food industry.
During his first term of office at NHS Western Cheshire he has worked with the chief executive to help the trust to deliver the inherited £42 million financial recovery plan and to restore relationships with key stakeholders.
His work has helped NHS Western Cheshire to maintain a strong position to manage, facilitate and influence the new transition agenda outlined in the recent White Paper entitled “Liberating the NHS”.
John has declared no political activity and holds no other ministerial appointments.
He will receive a remuneration of £34,152 per annum which is the current rate of remuneration for the chair of NHS Western Cheshire.
