STAFF at a travel agency in Chester are celebrating after they received a top award which recognises their hard work.
Thomas Cook’s store on Bridge Street was given the company’s Centre of Excellence status following a review of more than 800 other outlets.
The store is one of the first in the country to achieve the status after the company launched its internal scheme across 80 of Thomas Cook’s 800 stores in order to raise operational excellence.
Managing director of sales, Joanna Wild, said: “Our Chester store is the first of many and has set a very high standard for us to aspire to.
“Thomas Cook is committed to maintaining a high level of operational excellence across its high street network and we look forward to more stores following in the steps of Chester over the coming months.”
Participating stores have been given a set of criteria across four key areas - people, customer, product and operational excellence.
Thomas Cook stores offer everything from charter and scheduled holidays, flights and accommodation to car hire, theatre tickets and travel guides.
