AN EXHIBITION displaying selected work of the final year Fine Art and Photography students from the University of Chester will take place in Manchester this week.
The display is part of the 4°: Outside the Box showcase of graduate artwork at the prestigious CUBE Gallery.
The exhibition aims to highlight fresh creative talent from around the region, and University of Chester students will transfer their end-of-year degree show to CUBE for the event. Work exhibited ranges from painting and printmaking through to sculpture and textiles. Students’ work is discussed in the accompanying exhibition catalogue, in which each student explores their motives and influences behind their work.
John Renshaw, head of art and design at the university, is looking forward to seeing the students’ work displayed in the CUBE Gallery, and believes it is just reward for their efforts during their degree programmes, and more specifically, their final year.
Mr Renshaw said: “The students have demonstrated considerable initiative throughout their studies, and even during this, their final year, they have helped raise funds to support the exhibition.”
The exhibition runs from July 7-12 and entry is free. For more information, contact the University of Chester Art and Design Department on 01244 515 870.
