THE Blue Planet Aquarium at Cheshire Oaks is launching a week-long celebration of some of the aquatic world’s most amazing creatures.

Superhero Week (May 29 – June 6) will feature a host of incredible animals with fantastic super-powers.

From sharp-shooting archer fish and sharks’ super senses to marine masters of disguise, electric eels and some real monsters of the deep there’s oceans of extraordinary underwater superheroes featured.

The aquarium is also home to a variety of creatures with some genuinely terrifying super powers including the world’s deadliest spider, most poisonous frog and most venomous fish.

As part of the fun Blue Planet team members will also be donning their own superhero costumes and there will be special activities as well as daily ‘Superhero-themed shows’ in the Aquatheatre.

Blue Planet Aquarium’s Paul Renolds said: “The aquatic world is home to some truly incredible creatures, many of which could hold their own against any comic book superhero.

“This event allows us to showcase some of their special skills in a fun and entertaining way that will appeal to visitors of all ages.

“We thought it was about time that they got some recognition and Superhero Week is our way of paying tribute to them,” he added.

As well as the talks and Aquatheatre shows there will also be special Superhero Animal Trails around the aquarium, free Superhero animal talks and Superhero-themed face painting on offer.
