A CHILDREN’S hospice has been named as the nominated annual charity by kind-hearted garden centre workers.
The Grosvenor Garden Centre, on Wrexham Road, Chester has announced Claire House as its nominated charity for 2010.
Based in Bebington, Claire House provides respite, palliative and end- of-life care for children with life limiting and life threatening illnesses from Chester, Ellesmere Port, Wirral, Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man.
Area fundraiser Laura Breen said: “We are delighted that Grosvenor has chosen Claire House as its charity for this year. Their support could not have come at a better time. With more than 250 families currently registered with Claire House and many more in need of such support, every penny is vital in making sure we offer every child in the area the opportunity to take advantage of Claire House.”
Grosvenor Garden Centre’s managing director, Iain Wyle, said: “Through our work with the community and aid of many charities and ventures throughout each year, we are pleased to add our support to Claire House and hope to raise a significant amount of funds.”
