ELLESMERE Port's Blue Planet Aquarium has been shortlisted for the title of ‘Wildlife Attraction of the Year’.
The aquarium is among 10 wildlife attractions in the UK to be nominated for the award by satellite channel Eden.
The factual entertainment channel, which broadcasts documentaries such as Planet Earth and Blue Planet, is launching a three-month campaign next month to encourage members of the public to vote for their favourite wildlife attraction. Other shortlisted sites include Knowsley Safari Park, West Midlands Safari Park and Blair Drummond Safari Park.
Blue Planet Aquarium’s Paul Renolds said: “Obviously we’re delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious title and will be encouraging visitors to vote for us online when the event officially goes live next month.
“The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite and the winners are due to be announced in the autumn,” he added.
