VOLUNTEERS from across the Chester and Ellesmere Port areas are being invited to swim with sharks in a bid to save lives.
Members of The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign (MDC) are looking for daredevils to help them raise money to fund vital research, care and campaigns for children and adults with muscle disease.
Adventurous residents are being recruited for the event, where they will learn the basics of scuba diving in a gigantic aquarium tank with a variety of sharks, stingrays and conger eels. The ‘Discover Scuba’ challenge is aimed at diving beginners and takes place on Thursday, July 8, at the Blue Planet Aquarium in Cheshire Oaks.
Volunteers, who are asked to raise a minimum of £250 in sponsorship, will be swimming among one of Europe’s largest collection of sharks, including 10-foot sand tiger sharks, as well as 2,000 other fish.
