Chester City owner Vaughan faces 10-year company ban 

CHESTER City FC owner Stephen Vaughan has been disqualified from being a director of any company for more than a decade.

The current majority owner of the Deva Stadium club has been disqualified for a total of 11 years after a government investigation revealed his involvement in alleged VAT fraud while a director of Widnes Rugby League Football Club.

The disqualification takes effect on November 25 and means he will be banned from acting as a company director until November 2020.

Mr Vaughan said the disqualification would have no effect on the football club of which he is a 100 per cent shareholder.

    Why do you write 'alleged VAT fraud'? Surely he's involved in a VAT fraud, nothing alleged about it, it is a fraud and consequently he is a fraudster. In my day we called them crooks.

    How often is this bloke surrounded in controversy? If it's not brawling on Watergate St, its some charge with the Football Association, association with major criminals in the book 'Cocky', or ripping off someone along the line. Even as a Wxm fan I'd have to say this guy has been a boil on the arse of society & football for too long now. ......
