EIGHTEEN teams from across Chester did battle in an five-a-side competition held each summer to remember late friends.

Goals Soccer Centre on Talbot Way hosted the 2014 Danny and Dougie Evans Memorial Tournament on Sunday.

Trophies up for grabs are named in honour of popular members of the Chester footballing community who have passed away.

Teams competed for the Danny and Dougie Evans Trophy, the Ian Dutton Trophy, the Ronny McKay Cup, the Adam Griffin Trophy the Alex Chard Cup, the Winky Cup, the Dennis Dowridge Cup, the Andy Sanders Trophy and the Jimmy Ashford Trophy.

Despite the wet weather, there was another bumper turnout and some excellent football on show in one of the biggest adult tournaments in the area.

Hundreds of pounds was raised on the day and has been donated to the Hospice of the Good Shepherd in memory of Kyla Marshall, who passed away in March, aged 32.
