FAMILY and friends will take to the pitch next month for a joint memorial football match in honour of two late Chester residents.

Supporters will gather at Cheshire County Sports Club in Upton on Friday, August 1, for the fundraising match in memory of Daryl Moss and Nikki Jackson.

Scaffolder Daryl from Upton passed away in April 2003, aged 29. Nikki, died in April 2006, aged 28, after a car accident.

Nikki, a former receptionist at Scissors Hairdressers in Watergate Street, Chester, was friends with the Moss family and so it was decided the joint memorial event would be a fitting tribute to both.

Daryl’s daughter Charlotte, 19, is organising the annual memorial football match with all proceeds raised to be given in support of the mental health charity MIND.

The football match will kick off at 6.30pm and will be followed by a raffle and other fundraising events.

Raffle prizes include a meal for two at a Chester pub, a three-month gym membership, signed football boots from former England striker Michael Owen and many more.

Charlotte, other family members and friends have been organising memorial events since 2004.
