A WOMAN has denied threatening to burn down a city centre pub.

Yvonne Foy, 44, of Greenway Street, Chester was accused of threatening Adam Parker on April 3, 2014, by saying she would burn down his pub, the Dublin Packet on Northgate Street in Chester.

She was also accused of harrassing barmaid Lisa Povey over a period of 30 days in March of this year by way of making threatening hand gestures toward her, staring at her and making repeated unwanted visits to her place of work.

Foy pleaded not guilty on both counts at West Cheshire Magistrates Court and was released on conditional bail.

Magistrate Alan Menkin said Foy must have no contact with Lisa Povey or Adam Parker and must not go within 100 metres of the Dublin Packet pub.

She will appear for trial before Magistrates on June 26.
