SCHOOL pupils gave a five-star musical performance to entertain hundreds of local residents at a special festive event at an adventure playground.
Pupils from Blacon High School and all five primary schools in Blacon starred at the winter wonderland extravaganza at Blacon Adventure Playground.
The event was organised by local service provider, Avenue Services, with fun and festive activities on offer to families.
They included Santa’s grotto, crafts, card-making and a winter market.
The cast of the Theatre in the Quarter production, The Snow Queen, also performed songs from their production with further entertainment provided by Dee Sign Choir, the Cambria Marching Band and vocal group, Soundwall.
Mia Dean, six, of Wordsworth Crescent, Blacon, had the honour of cutting the ribbon to open the three day festivities.
Organiser Janet Gittins, of Avenue Services Neighbourhoods and Assets, said: “Christmas is a magical time for children and it was fantastic to see hundreds of families attend this winter event in Blacon. We had 768 people of all ages come through the doors over the three days.
“Holding this at the Adventure Playground added to the festivities, with the city farm and play facilities open to all.
“A special thank you to residents, staff, performers and funders who helped make this weekend so enjoyable for all.”
