POLICE are asking parents and residents on a Chester estate to be on their guard after a couple tried to coax a 10-year-old ten year old schoolboy into their car.
The incident happened at 6pm on Wednesday, when the boy was walking along Kipling Road, Blacon.
A silver Vauxhall Zafira pulled up alongside him and a man and woman got out of the car and encouraged him to get inside and go with them. The boy refused and ran off and raised the alarm with an adult immediately.
The woman is described as in her 40s with a large build and the man is described as also being of large build.
PC Scott Buckley said: "The boy did the right thing by telling a trusted adult. We are trying to establish the circumstances of this incident and would appeal to the couple in the car to contact us if they had a reasonable explanation for their actions.
"In the meantime this incident does concern us so we are advising parents to be vigilant and the schools have been giving stranger danger advice to their pupils.
"Cheshire Police takes allegations of this nature seriously and would advise anyone who sees suspicious activity to contact police."
Anyone with information are asked to contact PC Scott Buckley on 101 quoting incident number 117 of October 31.
Alternatively information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
