A MAN will stand trial next week for attempted murder.
Philip Richard Green, 22, from Chester appeared at West Cheshire Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with the attempted murder of a 35-year-old man.
The victim was stabbed in the chest on the City Walls near Iceland at 9.30pm on Monday, October 21. He remains in a stable condition in hospital.
In court, Green spoke only to confirm his name and to say he had no fixed address.
Counsel for the defence was Chris Hunt.
Magistrate Dr Elaine Hemmings said she was committing the case to Chester Crown Court where Green would appear on Monday, November 4.
She said because of the seriousness of the charge, Green would be remanded in custody until his court appearance.
