THE head lad at Michael Owen’s racehorse training yard near Chester has been nominated for a top award.
Andy Jackson works for trainer Tom Dascombe at Manor House Stables in Hampton and has been shortlisted in the Racing Welfare Pride of Racing Awards.
The yard said: “Andy has worked in racing his whole life and has a wealth of experience when it comes to riding and breaking horses. Since moving to Cheshire Andy has done a bit of globe-trotting assisting with our runners in Dubai, Turkey and the United States.”
The summary about Andy for the awards adds: “His dedication to the health and wellbeing of the horses in the yard is second to none and he is highly respected by his colleagues.”
The awards, sponsored by Betfair, take place at Haydock Park racecourse on Saturday.
