MOTORISTS can learn how to become safer on the roads by attending a free driver awareness briefing in Chester.
The two-hour session will deal with defensive driving techniques, hazard awareness and reducing stress to reduce the risk of being involved in a crash.
Cheshire West and Chester Council are hosting the briefing at Hoole Community Centre in Westminster Road on Wednesday, October 2.
The session runs from 7pm to 9pm and will include road safety advice to extend driving knowledge, skills and confidence and develop tolerance and consideration for other road users.
Hoole councillors Alex Black and Bob Thompson support the briefing and are inviting residents to book places.
Cllr Black said: “The two-hour briefing covers advice to drivers on defensive driving techniques and risk perception as well as advice on driving more economically in a climate of extremely high fuel costs.
“I would certainly encourage drivers to sign up and listen to the advice that will improve their driving skills.”
Cllr Thompson added: “This is a wonderful opportunity for drivers to gain extra driver training and to identify what makes a good driver.
“Following the briefing participants will be offered the chance to develop their skills further by booking an hour long driving assessment with an approved driver trainer at a very reasonable cost.”
