POLICE have arrested a man after two young women were sexually assaulted in Chester.
Both assaults took place within half an hour of each other in the Garden Quarter area of the city in the early hours of Monday.
The first assault happened at 3.57am on Granville Road and the second took place at 4.27am on Lorne Street.
Both victims, one aged 21 and the other aged 20, reported being approached by a man who then touched them inappropriately
Inspector Ian Thorp of Chester Inner Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Cheshire Police take the safety of our residents very seriously and do all we can to investigate, detect and deter this type of behaviour, which is clearly very distressing for the victim."
Cheshire Police have arrested a 52-year-old man from the Manchester area in connection with the incidents.
