A MAN accused of causing a crash which badly damaged a Chester pub will appear at the city’s crown court later this month.
Andrew Jones, 31, of Moorcroft Terrace, Saltney, is accused of causing the crash in which his BMW X5 and a Vauxhall Astra went into the front of the Bridge Inn on Tarvin Road, Boughton, in the early hours of July 1 last year.
The crash forced the closure of the pub, which is still to reopen.
Jones has been charged with dangerous driving and driving without due care and attention, fleeing the scene before being apprehended by police officers two days later.
Firefighters had to use specialist equipment to cut one person out of the wreckage of one of the vehicles, with the injured party suffering serious back injuries.
Jones issued no plea when he appeared yesterday and will appear again at crown court on Friday, March 22.
