A VILLAGE pub is hosting a charity quiz on Sunday to raise money for a little girl fighting cancer.
Anya Bentham, who is nearly two, is undergoing treatment at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool for an advanced form of an aggressive cancer called neuroblastoma.
Her parents, Graeme Bentham and Naomi Stanley, from Connah’s Quay, have launched an appeal to raise £250,000 to pay for Anya to have pioneering treatment in America.
The Ring O’Bells in the family’s home village of Christleton has organised the ‘Inn Your House’ quiz night to support the appeal.
Pub owner Ian Wade said: “We want as many people as possible to come down to the pub to support Anya.
“It promises to be a great night for all with some spectacular prizes.
“We are hoping Anya and her parents will be attending, however ‘Team Anya’ will definitely be here and a lot of supporters, friends and family from the community.
“We have already had incredible backing from everyone with amazing donations for the raffle.”
Chef Andy King and Clint Devine are hosting the quiz night, which starts at 7.30pm.
Acoustic musician Tom Monahan will also be playing through the evening.
The winning team will be rewarded by having their house turned into a pub for a night.
Mr Wade said: “Everyone will have the chance to win the first place prize of ‘Inn Your House’.
“The Ring O’ Bells will provide the winners with a pub themed party at their own house, complete with a well stocked bar including a Spitting Feathers keg, barbecue, chef, waiting staff and games.
“We will also have a raffle on the evening with some fantastic prizes to be won, such as a UK mini break for two and tickets to The Laugh Inn.”
