A CHESTER-based soldier is still missing in the French Alps.
Police and mountain rescue teams have been searching for Simon Daw for the past six days.
He went missing shortly after midnight on Wednesday having been out drinking while on holiday with friends.
Cardiff-born Mr Daw, 26, is in the 1st Battalion The Royal Welsh and is based at the Dale Barracks.
Army spokesman Gavin O’Connor said: “We are aware a serving soldier has gone missing in France.
