MODEL turned TV personality Calum Best helped land one lucky Chester bachelor a date for the night.
Calum, son of the late Manchester United legend George Best, acted as Pete Last’s dating guru for the day during a Valentine’s love clinic at the Grosvenor Shopping Centre on Saturday.
Pete won an online competition to be named Chester’s most eligible bachelor.
His prize was a one-to-one dating lesson with Calum, who famously dated Hollywood bad girl Lindsay Lohan and Rod Stewart’s daughter Kimberly.
Calum passed on hints, tips and advice about finding love before going on the hunt to find a date for Pete.
He also spoke about how much he enjoyed spending time in Chester – finding plenty of attractive women to line Pete up with.
“Chester is such a beautiful city and there were some very beautiful girls around
the Grosvenor Shopping Centre,” said Calum. “It’s been great fun.
“Pete had some great banter.
I might even pitch it as an idea for a TV programme.”
Calum scoured the shopping centre to find Pete a date, his charming nature proving a huge hit with the girls around the city centre.
Originally from London, Pete is now a nightlife business owner in Chester.
Shoppers in the centre were handed traffic light coloured balloons to indicate whether they were in a relationship, single or ‘it’s complicated’ as Calum went on the lookout for Pete’s new lady.
With his eye for the perfect partner, Calum helped to find Pete a dozen potential dates and took him up to lots of single ladies to find the right match.
Pete and his date were due to enjoy hospitality at the Blackhouse Grill on Pepper Street and at Cruise nightclub.
Julie Webb, centre manager, said: “We wanted to invite Calum Best to the centre to really boost everyone’s spirits during a time that can be tough for singletons.
“We had some very eligible entries into the competition which really shows that there are people in Chester ready to wear their heart on their sleeve in their quest for true love.”
