A SINGER and comedian has organised a fun-packed event in memory of a friend who died from cancer.
Hefin Roberts, part of vocal comedy duo Timeless, has brought together an array of talent to perform at Saltney Tavern, Saltney, on Sunday, November 4.
Hefin recently lost long-time friend Kevin Jenson, who died at the age of 43.
The money raised from the event is going to the Countess of Chester Cancer Unit where Kevin was treated.
Hefin, 42, said: “It’s a cause that’s really close to my heart. We want to raise as much as possible.
“Hopefully it will help the unit to buy new equipment. I hope one day we’ll find a cure for the disease.”
Hefin’s performing career has taken him all over the world, from Portugal, Spain and Holland, to Morocco.
He recently linked up with friend Tommy Barron to create Timeless, who perform a mix of songs including West End musical hits from Andrew Lloyd Webber productions such as The Phantom of the Opera, to contemporary tracks from Westlife and the Kings of Leon.
“We wanted to offer something different, and we try and bring as much passion and energy as we can to every show,” Hefin added.
The line up for the cabaret fundraiser evening, includes Timeless, Meatloaf tribute act Andy Stine, Cher tribute Heather Marie and singer M J Morgan.
Tickets for the event cost £5, doors open at 6.30pm and the show starts at 7.30pm.
Hefin added: “There’s going to be a raffle. I’m very grateful to Saltney Tavern who have given us the room for free.
“It’s for a very good cause, and it’s going to be a great night of entertainment.”

Father-of-two Kevin, from Vicars Cross, Chester, was a well known figure in and around the Chester and District Sunday League, having played for numerous clubs and captained his final club, the Corner Pin in Saltney, to treble success in his final season last year.
Friends and family have paid their respects to Kevin via a memorial Facebook page that has been inundated with tributes and messages of love and support for his wife Anne-Marie, 33, and children Eloise, seven, and Thomas, five.
Ann-Marie said: “Kevin was an amazing husband and father and was one of those people who made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was just so easy to like.”
