CHESHIRE Oaks bosses are aiming to host the UK’s largest ever Christmas singing event.
To celebrate the launch of the festive shopping season at the designer retail outlet, budding singers from across the region are being urged to join them on Thursday, November 15 (7pm), for the unique event.
The event, in partnership with Radio City 96.7, will see the public invited to tune up their vocal chords and get involved in the Christmas celebrations early in aid of Cheshire Oaks’ nominated charity, Claire House Hospice.
Anyone is welcome to get involved, whether established singing groups and choirs or friends and family who just want to get into the festive spirit while raising money for charity.
Brian Handley, Centre Manager at McArthurGlen Cheshire Oaks, said: “We are delighted to be hosting a family friendly Christmas event that is all about giving back to the community.
“Local residents have the unique opportunity to be part of something really special and we could not be happier to be working with Claire House and we’re so excited to be hosting the UK’s largest festive sing-along to raise money for such a good cause.”
The official lighting of the 90ft Cheshire Oaks Christmas tree, the largest artificial tree in the UK, will take place on the evening along with the opening of the festive fun fair and fireworkds display to mark the start of the celebrations.
Abi Smith, Cheshire Area Fundraising Manager at Claire House, said: “Christmas is a particularly special time of year at Claire House and to be supported by McArthurGlen Cheshire Oaks really is a Christmas dream come true.
“With over 300 families to look after every year, we need to raise £6,500 every day to cover the daily cost of caring for children and families from our community at Claire House and in our community through our dedicated Hospice to Home team.
“We’re so grateful to McArthurGlen Cheshire Oaks and all its shoppers for their support and look forward to seeing them on November 15.”
