A FOOTBALL boss has vowed to punish the hooligan who threw a brick at a coach while fans were boarding the vehicle.

The shocking incident took place at about 5pm on Saturday following Chester FC’s 2-1 home defeat against Hednesford Town.

Chief executive Pat Cluskey said away supporters were boarding the coach at the Exacta Stadium, Bumpers Lane, when the missile
was thrown at the vehicle, causing an outer pane of a window to shatter.

He said: “We have caught the act on CCTV footage which we will be sharing with Cheshire Constabulary.

“From the footage you can see a young male who has come out of block H in the main stand before making his way around to the south stand.

“He has not smashed the whole glass as it is double-glazed, only the outer glass smashed, but he sure did give someone a nasty shock.

“There were certainly people on it at the time.”

He added the culprit would be banned for life from the stadium. “We have a pretty good track record at home here in Chester.

“We know the majority of times nothing happens like this, and we want to keep it that way.”

“We would urge if anyone knows of anything to come forward to ourselves or to Cheshire Police.”

Cheshire Police can be contacted on Chester CID 0845 458 0000. Alternatively information can be left on Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
