THE Welsh Premier League takes a backseat for Prestatyn for the rest of this month as cup competitions dominate their programme.
On Saturday they face Newtown at Bastion Gardens in the League Cup and a week later Cefn Druids are the visitors in a crucial Welsh Cup fourth round tie.
The cup ties provide the Seasiders with a potentially lucrative revenue stream.
The League Cup carries a prize fund of £15,000 with £10k going to the winners and should Town overcome Newtown in their two-legged tie they will face Bangor City in the next round, again on a home and away basis.
The showdown with Druids gives Town a great chance to build on their Welsh Cup exploits of recent seasons but Huw Davies' robust team - who are chasing promotion from the Huws Gray Alliance - will provide a tough test in this last 16 clash.
The Cefn Mawr side are desperate to regain the Welsh Premier status they lost in 2009/10 and will see victory over the Seasiders as a major boost to their revival plans.
Town return to Welsh Premier action on Saturday February 4 when they will be the first league opponents for Bangor City at their new Nantporth stadium.
