A BUSINESSWOMAN is devastated after goods valued at thousands of pounds were snatched from her salon.

Lynsey Austin, owner of L.A. Hair and Beauty in Wrexham, was overwhelmed by the news that her business, opened in 2007, had been raided by burglars.

According to the distraught hairdresser CCTV at the rear of the property in Penybryn shows two men breaking into the premises at about 11pm on Monday.

The men prised the back door window out of its frame and climbed into the shop.

They then stole Tigi, Catwalk and Candi Fixation hair products valued at between £3,500 and £4,000 as well as a flat screen TV.

Lynsey said: “They’ve had to jump over a six foot wall with razor wire on top to get to the shop and they obviously knew the CCTV cameras were they because they tried to smash them. They found our roll of binbags and just started filling them with stuff, they even emptied the bin out so they could take more.

“The TV which was valued at about £450 has gone too.

“This is like my home so I feel sick thinking about them being in here.”

After watching CCTV footage  Lynsey believes the men stayed for about 25 minutes and took whatever they could carry.

Lynsey added: “This is a busy road and 11pm isn’t that late so I hope someone has seen them.

“There were footprints visible on the floor so hopefully that will help find them.

“I’d also ask anyone who’s offered this stuff to go to the police.

“No-one else in Wrexham is stocking Candi Fixation so people should know it’s been stolen from here.”

A police spokesman said: “We are appealing for information after a hair salon in Penybryn was broken into overnight on Monday.

“Hair products of the Tigi and Candi Fixation brands were stolen and, given the time of year, we believe the offenders may try to sell the goods on in the next few days.

“If anyone is offered goods matching this description or has any information about the break-in please call us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call North Wales Police on 101 if in Wales or 0300 330 0101 from outside the country.

Nothing stops the determined thief...doesn't say a lot for CCTV which is only effective in recording crime but does nothing to prevent it happening or in too many cases no good for identification purposes
