Don’t rely on luck to find your perfect job

There are certain ways to go about getting a job. Yes it’s true, there’s a chance you may land one through sheer luck or because a friend suggested you to their boss. Sometimes a job just lands in your lap – but this happens pretty rarely in the grand scheme of things.

If you want to rely on something a little more concrete than just lady luck, your best option is to find a good recruitment consultant to help you navigate these murky waters.

These people are experts at matching job seekers with vacancies, and help from them can often ease the anxiety of conducting your search entirely on your own. Job agencies have a proven track record at helping young graduates achieve their goals, so why not give it a try and see for yourself.

What’s more, if you’re willing to put in the leg work and really broaden your scope, get your hands on as many publications containing job adverts as you can. It may seem obvious, but even in these uncertain financial times there are employers out there looking for talented people to come aboard!

And even if you don’t come across something that really excites you, why not advertise yourself? By all means sign up to a recruitment agency, but get yourself out there as much as possible as well. Circulate your CV and try to meet as many people as you can – networking can go a long way now and later on.

Don’t rely on luck: get out there and make it happen for yourself.
