BUSINESS owners are being urged to take up the remaining free bike stands as part of a Chester cycle scheme.

The ParkThatBike project has been running in Chester for the last year offering businesses, voluntary sector organisations, shops, offices, and community buildings free cycle stands.

The project is now coming to a close, but a few stands are still available and organisations that need secure cycle parking for their premises are being urged to make an application.

Up to four stands are available per applicant, each holds two bikes securely and each recipient will be responsible for installing them on their own premises, in a location agreed with the scheme organiser.

Peter Andrews, the scheme administrator, said: “There has been a great response from local businesses and community groups so far – but I’m sure that there are still a few that do not yet know about the scheme.

“If you have staff, visitors or customers who arrive by bike, they’ll really appreciate proper cycle parking.”

Visit the Cycle Chester website www.cyclechester.com to download an application form or call 01594 564 344.
