Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council has adopted by resolution the provisions contained in Schedule 3 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982, as amended by the Policing and Crime Act 2009 for the licensing control of sex establishments and as such those persons wishing to operate sex establishments in the Borough will be required to gain a licence from the Council before commencing trade.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, under section 2(2) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982, that Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council resolved on 17th March 2011 to bring into force from 9th May 2011 Schedule 3 to the Act, which provides for the control of sex establishments (i.e. sex shops and sex cinemas).
