A GROUP of kindergarten cops were given an insight into the work of the police.

Pupils at Saltney Ferry Primary School were paid a visit by North Wales Police as part of their project on people who help them.

The force of four-year-olds got the chance to try on a uniform, take a ride in the patrol car and even feed fruit to the police horses.

Teacher Helen Barclay told the Leader: “The children are doing a topic on people who help us so we have tried to arrange some visits from different people.

“We have had a lollipop lady come to give us a talk and the police and we’re hoping to get some firemen to come in their engines too. It’s good for them to get first-hand experience.

“We encouraged the children to ask lots of questions and they asked if they could feed the horses some apples.

“They absolutely loved it and were as high as kites for the rest of the day.”
